Modern technology gives us many things.

Apple's new speaker is imminent

0 0

This new Apple speaker, launched through its subsidiary Beats, will replace the Beats Pill+. The device was launched almost 10 years ago, in 2015, and was discontinued by the brand in 2022. At first it seemed that Apple had decided to abandon that market sector. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The new Beats Pill will arrive just in time for summer, and Apple has already met the last legal requirement before launching it: registering it with the United States FCC.

Apple acquired Beats in 2014 for a staggering $3.2 billion. At the time it was speculated whether it was done with the intention of facilitating the launch of Apple Music, or if they just wanted to keep the brand's technology and patents. However, those from Cupertino have continued to launch Beats products as an economical alternative to AirPods. They are very careful not to step on each other, and the same will happen with this new Beats Pill which we expect imminently.

What's new in Apple's Beats Pill speaker

Apple doesn't sell anything like a Portable speaker. Both the HomePod and the HomePod mini need to be connected to power to work, so that space has been left empty in the market. It seems that those from Cupertino want to cover it with this new Beats Pill speaker, which will not take long to be officially launched based on the data we have at the moment.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC for its acronym in English) is a United States organization in which any product that emits radio frequencies and that wants to be sold in the country must be registered. It happens with iPhones every year, iPads, Macs, AirPods, AirTag, etc. Except for accessories, all Apple products require this verification. This serves as a reference when determining its approximate launch date.

Beats Pill 2024

It is not the first time we have seen this new Beats Pill. Apple has sent it to personalities such as Leo Messi, LeBron James, or Daniel Ricciardo so that they can use it in public and appear in the press. It is clear that this is a marketing campaign. But if we add that to the fact that Apple tends to register its products with the FCC a few weeks before launching them, everything indicates that we will see it soon. In fact, the Beats Pill's own connection animation appeared in a iOS 17.5 beta.

Beats Pill: Apple's portable speaker is (almost) here

We know that the design will change and that it will come with a USB-C port. But, at the moment, we do not know technical details, or the price that this new product will have. At the time, its predecessor was launched for $199 in the United States, so it would not be unreasonable for this new model to cost the same. Anyway, there's not much left to find out. Everything indicates that it will be launched with iOS 17.5, which is now available for all compatible iPhones. So it is to be expected that we will see the Beats Pill speaker launch almost imminently.
