Apple today announced the upcoming iOS 17.4 and is making third betas of iPadOS 17.4 updates available to public beta testers, allowing non-developers to test the new version before it is released.
The third public iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 betas arrived a week after Apple released the second betas.
Public beta testers can get the beta by opening the Settings app, going to Software Update, tapping “Beta Updates” and turning on iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 Public Beta.
What’s Coming with iOS 17.4 Beta 3?
The iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 betas bring a number of changes that allow alternative app stores and alternative payment methods for users in the European Union.
There are also new options for default browser selection. Additionally, NFC has been rolled out to banks and other financial institutions, and browsers are no longer required to use WebKit.
Alongside these changes, the update brings new emojis, Podcast transcripts, tweaks to Safari, hints at what we can expect from next-gen CarPlay and more.
